Middle Leadership- Personal Development

Miss Loveridge and Mrs Hadley are Laurel Lane's Middle Leadership and they support the personal development of the school. Each term, they will provide an update on all of their hard work.

Autumn Term 2024

Our role as middle leaders is to develop and maintain the quality of a student's learning experience by organising whole school events, encouraging opportunities for parents to engage with their children’s learning and developing pupil voice. We do this by offering opportunities for pupils to share their views with their school council members, who then attend a fortnightly meeting to discuss suggestions made. We have organised events during the Autumn Term including: Anti-bullying week, Black History Month and Remembrance Day. We have also organised competitions such as the BBC’s 500-word and ‘Decorate The Door’ which proved to be very successful. We are also going to present to SLT at the end of each term to share all we have worked on and the impact this has had on the Laurel Lane children.

Our next steps going forward are to continue celebrating more whole school events such as ‘The Big School Birdwatch’, ‘Energy-saving week’ and ‘national story/poem week’ which we think will be just as successful. The children have really enjoyed participating in the events so far – it really has been talk of the playground!  We will also be arranging further opportunities for parents to come in to see their children's learning.
