Pupil Premium
Laurel Lane Primary tracks the performance of all children carefully to ensure that they meet their potential. The Pupil Premium money is used to support pupils identified as entitled to Pupil Premium money.
What is Pupil Premium?
Publicly-funded schools in England get extra funding from the government to help them improve the attainment of their disadvantages pupils.
Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds:
-
generally face extra challenges in reaching their potential at school
-
often do not perform as well as their peers
The pupil premium grant is designed to allow schools to help disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve.
Free school meals
Schools get £1,345 for every primary age pupil who claims free school meals, or who has claimed free school meals in the last 6 years.
All children are entitled to get free meals under the Universal Infant Free School Meals initiative. This does not give the school PP funding. You should apply for FSM for your child regardless of what year group they are in if you feel you may qualify.
Help obtain government funding for your child's school!
Did you know the government gives additional funding to schools for those children entitled to free school meals?
Schools use this money to obtain additional staff and resources that help improve the quality of education.
