Welcome from the Headteacher
We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Laurel Lane Primary School. We pride ourselves on being a warm, friendly school and we are committed to developing every aspect of your child. At Laurel Lane, we value our relationship with our school community and work collaboratively with families, parents and carers to provide the very best opportunities for all children.
At our school, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where every child feels valued, supported and inspired to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and inclusive school community- having been an Inclusion Centre of Excellence since 2018. We strive to provide learning and social opportunities for each child to enable them to succeed academically and socially. From the first day that a child enters Laurel Lane Primary School, we deliver a broad curriculum that encourages and nurtures children, from wherever they are starting in their educational journey. You will see that we aim to build a school where achievement is high and every child is able to develop and thrive within a supportive atmosphere, ensuring learning is fun and the value of each individual is clear.
At Laurel Lane, we develop strong links with the community. We have a close relationship with the Parish Church of St Martin’s, Church Road. Both the school and church serve the same community and efforts are made to foster the relationship between both.
We see our school community as a 'family', where children are cared for, nurtured and supported. The partnership between staff, pupils and families is at the heart of everything we do. We foster an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance and high regard for all members of society and for themselves. We are truly fortunate to belong to such an extraordinary 'family', with its rich and diverse community, cultures, religions and languages.
Laurel Lane is part of the Frays Academy Trust along with three local Church of England Primary Schools (St Martin's, St Matthews and Cowley St Laurence) and three Wokingham schools (All Saints, Beechwood Primary and Keep Hatch Primary School). As part of the Academy, we are able to develop high quality teaching and learning so therefore, give all of our children the best possible opportunities in their primary education.
We are committed, as part of the vision of the Frays Academy Trust, that all children should reach their potential and are given the opportunity to flourish in a healthy, safe and secure environment.
The Pond (Nursery Provision for 2 to 4 year olds) is part of Laurel Lane Primary School, where the school values and ethos are also embedded and adhered to. We are dedicated to giving children the best possible start, as this is the start of their journey in education. The curriculum is designed to enable all children to develop, providing them opportunities to achieve high standards.
Please contact us, should you wish to visit Laurel Lane Primary School. I would very much like to meet you, but more importantly, I would like you to see the school, talk to the children and staff and experience for yourself the excellent curriculum and opportunities that we offer to all our pupils.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website.
